- What is the difference between wireless and hardwired security?
- Wireless systems like Ajax use encrypted radio communication — ideal for retrofits and renovations where running cable is disruptive. Hardwired systems are preferred in new builds where cable can be concealed during construction. We recommend the right approach based on your home and situation.
- Do I need professional monitoring?
- Monitoring is optional but recommended. A monitored system means a response centre verifies alarms and dispatches help even if you are unreachable. Self-monitored systems send alerts directly to your phone — effective, but dependent on you being available.
- Can you integrate security with my home automation?
- Yes. MNL Systems installs both Ajax security and Loxone home automation, so integration is native. Security arm/disarm can trigger lighting scenes, lock doors, and activate cameras — all from a single app or keypad.
- Will the system work during a power outage?
- Yes. Ajax hubs include a 36-hour battery backup. Wireless detectors run on long-life batteries independent of mains power. The system continues to protect and communicate during outages.
- Can I add cameras to my security system?
- Absolutely. We integrate IP cameras and NVR recording with your Ajax panel so motion events trigger recording and you can view live footage from the same app as your alarm.
- Do you service the system after installation?
- Yes. We offer annual service checks, remote diagnostics, firmware updates, and priority on-site response for all MNL-installed systems. Your system stays current and supported.
